Group Practicum Sign-Up

 

A unit of Group Practicum consists of four 3-hour teleconference training sessions in a cohort of four trainees, led by a Certified Trainer.

 

Each session includes two full-length practice therapy sessions conducted by the trainees and coached by the Trainer, with debriefing after each. In each group meeting you will observe one session and be therapist or client in the other. Across the four meetings you will be therapist twice and client twice.

 

Each GP meeting is recorded and playback is available via secure password to only the four trainees and the Institute's trainers and directors. Recording was instituted at the request of trainees who told us that listening to their GP sessions would enhance learning significantly. Recording also allows a GP member who misses a meeting to listen in later and not miss out on what the other trainees have experienced and learned. At times, trainers also listen to GP recordings as part of their ongoing process of continuing to learn how to teach Coherence Therapy more effectively.

CE Credit Information
 
Group Practicum is for clinical psychologists, clinical social workers, marriage & family therapists, and counselors who work with individuals, couples, families and/or groups.
 

CE provider is PsychoEducational Resources (PER), who is an approved sponsor with APA, NBCC, ASWB, and NAADAC as well as many state mental health boards. You must attend all 4 sessions of the Group Practicum and complete an evaluation form after the last session in order to receive CE Certification. CE Certification will be mailed to you approximately 4 weeks after you submit your evaluation.
 
Learning objectives. By conducting practice sessions with the instructor's real-time coaching and then discussing the session with the group, you will advance in your ability to--
1. Define and carry out Coherence Therapy's methods for the efficient discovery of the specific implicit (unconscious) emotional schemas maintaining the existence of a given presenting problem or symptom.
2. Define and carry out Coherence Therapy's methods for the integration of discovered emotional schemas into conscious, daily experience.
3. Define and carry out Coherence Therapy's methods for the transformation of an integrated emotional schema, permanently ending that schema's production of the problem or symptom.
 
Training level is adjusted by the instructor to meet your current level of knowledge and skill with Coherence Therapy and may be introductory, intermediate or advanced.
 

Instructors are Certified Trainers of the Coherence Psychology Institute, LLC.

The Institute's directors are Bruce Ecker, MA, LMFT and Sara K. Bridges, PhD.

A Group Practicum is led by two Trainers, with one Trainer leading each session. The Trainers are Niall Geoghegan, PsyD and Robin Ticic, BA.
 
Cancellations and refunds. You may cancel your enrollment in Group Practicum until 10 days prior to the first of the four scheduled meetings. Your refund will be the tuition you paid minus $75 processing fee. To cancel, send an email titled "Canceling Group Practicum" to training.pgm@coherenceinstitute.org.
