1993 First workshop conducted in Tucson, Arizona.
1996 Publication of Depth Oriented Brief Therapy by Bruce Ecker and Laurel Hulley (Jossey-Bass)
2001 Covered in the Handbook of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (K. S. Dobson, Ed., pp. 407-411, Guilford Press).
2003 Covered in Essential Psychotherapies, 2nd Ed. (A. S. Gurman & S. B. Messer, Eds., pp. 290-292, Guilford Press).
2006 First of Ecker's presentations of the neuroscience of reconsolidation to psychologists and psychotherapists, a conference keynote address at the University of California. Delineated the matching steps of Coherence Therapy and reconsolidation and the hypothesis that Coherence Therapy deletes emotional implicit memory by inducing reconsolidation.
2007 Publication of the first of three peer-reviewed journal articles on the neuroscience of Coherence Therapy; second article published in 2008, third in 2009.
2007 University of Florida researchers initiate the first outcome study (randomized controlled trial) of Coherence Therapy.
2008 Founding of the Coherence Psychology Institute by Bruce Ecker and Sara K. Bridges; launch of the Coherence Therapy Training and Certification Program.
2008 The American Psychological Association's annual convention includes a Coherence Therapy workshop in the CE program, and again in 2009.
2009 The American Psychological Association adds two courses on Coherence Therapy to its online trainings for CE credit.
2009 University of Florida researchers report favorable results of the first outcome study of Coherence Therapy at the APA annual convention in Toronto.
